Rock Wool Board

Rock Wool Board

Rock wool is made from volcanic rocks such as basalt and limestone. These rocks are melted in a cupola furnace at approximately 1450°C using coke and an air blast, and the molten lava is spun and cooled with water to form fibers. The fibers are coated with heat-resistant binders and cut into suitable sizes to facilitate application.
